Supported by GTS MedOH and with Greys Specialist Recruitment Ltd as sponsors, I have been delivering a series of lectures around the UK. The first was in Bedfordshire, then Aberdeen and finally London in 2023. The programme for 2024 is starting to take shape with events recommencing in March. Venue still needed for Birmingham.

Like many people I will be delivering my guest lecture to the MSc Workplace Health and Wellbeing students by MS Teams. Many thanks to Professor Amanda Griffiths for the invitation.

The module is ‘contemporary issues in workplace health’ and there is nothing more contemporary than Covid-19. How has it impacted workplace drug and alcohol testing? Can we still do a breath alcohol determination? Is urine safer than oral fluid? Will these changes be permanent or will we revert to ‘the norm’?

I am delighted to be speaking at the NEC Birmingham on Wednesday 06 Mar 2019 [12.10] on the subject of the Latest Drugs to Look Out For.

A guide to the newer illegal drugs available such as new/novel psychoactive substances [NPS], cannabis oil and opioids will be given. Why are the NPS drugs hard to test for? Will cannabis oil result in a positive drug test? What is the difference between opiates and opioids?

Looking forward to my visit to the University of Nottingham on 21 Feb 2019. I will be presenting material on drug and alcohol policies and testing inc a special section on CBD oil, CBD vaping and other current issues regarding cannabis. This will be a contribution to a module called ‘Contemporary Issues in Workplace Health’ as part of the MSc Workplace Health and Wellbeing. Many thanks to Professor Amanda Griffiths for my continued involvement.

Delighted to have been asked by the Society of Occupational Medicine and Faculty of Occupational Medicine to chair and present at the 25-27 June 2018 Conference held in the Regent’s University, London.

I am speaking on 26 June and will be looking at what is new in the word of workplace drug testing. The other session presenters are from London Underground OH, so it will prove to be an interesting session.
