Quality and Validation

The production of high quality results is a combination of validated scientific methods and a robust Quality Management System.  Both have to be embraced by the organisation and demonstrated via document control and integrity.

Quality Standards

Responsible for successfully commissioning two laboratories, from concept to accreditation by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) to ISO/IEC 17025, delivering on time and to budget, Helen can assist new laboratories as they progress towards ISO/IEC 17025 (Testing), ISO 15189 (Medical Laboratories), ISO 17043 (Proficiency Testing) or other similar standard.  In addition Helen can assist established laboratories, as they work to maintain their accreditation or extend their scope of testing.

Validation

With over 20 years experience working and managing laboratories, Helen is able to guide laboratories through the necessary work for successfully validating their scientific methods.  The validation plans and reports would be suitable for a range of standards including ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 15189, ISO 17043 and the Forensic Codes of Practice and Conduct.

Training

This is generally delivered in-house however Helen can also provide input to other organisations delivering training.  Training topics typically cover validation, competencies and training records.

Accreditation Bodies

Since 2009 Helen has worked for, or alongside, a number of accreditation bodies outside the UK; namely the Turkish Accreditation Agency (TURKAK) and NAB-Malta.
